Robert "Ned" Edward Wood, Jr.

Robert “Ned” E. Wood, Jr., 77, of Bluffton, SC passed away Monday, May 29, 2023 at his home.

Ned was born September 15, 1945 in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late Robert Edward Wood and Virginia Marie Nolan Wood. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a Senior Vice President in the financial industry. Ned enjoyed his retirement at Sun City Hilton Head, playing a lot of golf and tennis.  He made many friends while there because of his outgoing personality.  He will be missed by many.

Ned is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Stewart Wood; brothers, Fr. Peter Wood and Chris Wood (Helene); daughters, Beth Baldwin (Steve) of Hilton Head Island, SC, Jenny Beacham (Brooke) of Charlotte, NC, and Sidney Rossi (Mark) of Hilton Head Island; grandchildren, Catherine Poston (Kyle), Michael Wolfe (Samantha), Tybee Beacham, and Colbie Beacham; and great-grandchildren, Kaia Rose Wolfe, Eloise Poston, Cormac Poston; three nieces; one grand-niece; and a host of cousins.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 12, 2023 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton.
