It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert Andrew Gemmett.
Rob was born February 24, 1991 in Portales, New Mexico and passed away peacefully in his home on March 15, 2025.
Rob was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle (Courtney, Avery, Mekenzie, Stella, and many nephews) He loved family, nature, animals of all kinds and music of all types, especially Reggae Rock. He was an amazing Chef who loved to cook for others, a master at defeating his wife in chess and showing his love for her in grand ways. He had a laugh that was memorable and a smile that lit up his eyes. He loved to dance, sing loudly, and take walks with his son. He was famous for stopping traffic to remove debris from the road, providing rides to hitchhikers, and lending a helping hand. He always had a kind word or gesture and was known to put others first. He was known for his generosity towards others and especially for those less fortunate. He was considerate, gentle and a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Gemmett, son, Gregory Robert Gemmett of Bluffton, SC, mother, Laurie Gemmett of Simpsonville, SC, father, Greg Gemmett of Moreau Lake, NY, brothers, Jonathan Gemmett (Shari) of Schuylerville, NY, Gabriel Gemmett of Buckeye AZ. He leaves behind the loving family of his wife, the entire Gonzalez family, beginning with Juan and Elizabeth Gonzalez of Bluffton, SC, who loved him as their own.
Celebration of life to be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Jarvis Park, Hilton Head Island, SC at Pavilion 1.Memorial Celebration at 12:30 pm followed by picnic Celebration until 3:30pm.
