Robert L. Hamilton Sr. was born on July 13th, 1957 in Manhattan New York to Hester Phoenix Hamilton and Joseph Hamilton Sr.
He attended and graduated from Automotive High School in Brooklyn NY in 1975.
In July of the same year he met Holly Ann Shippey the love of his life. They were married in May 1980. To this union 2 children were born. TaMeeka Latrice Hamilton and Robert Lee Hamilton Jr.
Robert was a loving guy. He never met a stranger. If you would let him talk to you the conversation could go on forever. He loved to tell endless stories and make people laugh. Bobby loved to read, watch old Westerns on television and spend time with his family. He had a special relationship with his daughter that surpassed father daughter. She was like his twin. He spent time after his wife passed away focusing on the care of his son. He loved his New York Mets Baseball team and his New York Giants Football team.
He worked in New York for F & F Sanitation Company for many years Waste Management in Bluffton, SC. His last employment was a Housemen at Palmetto Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his wife Holly Ann Hamilton, his brother Joseph Hamilton Jr. and parents Joseph Hamilton Sr. And Hester Hamilton.
On Sunday October 23rd 2022 Robert passed away. He leaves to mourn one daughter TaMeeka Latrice Hamilton( Johnny Mitchell). One son Robert Lee Hamilton Jr. Both of Bluffton, SC. One brother Michael Edward Hamilton (Selma) of Manhattan New York. A sister Ethelmae Cohen ( James ) of Bluffton, SC. Patricia Ann Bassett (Glen) of Mt. Vernon, NY. DeBora’h Lynn Hemmings ( Solomon ) of Bluffton, SC. One Sister in law Maria Shippey a Brother in law Lethan Shippey. An adopted Aunt Albertha Hamilton. One Aunt in law Martha Phoenix of Bluffton, SC
5 nephews 3 nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. His special friends Julius Shaw, JC Frazier and Henry Green. A special cousin Robert Lee Jenkins. Holly would call Robert Lee “ Bobby’s Second Wife”. A cousin who was more like an Aunt Mary Fields. An adoptive niece Santina A. Walker.
The family would like to thank all those for the immediate support from family, friends and community. A special thank you to The PEP Program for their endless love shown to the family during the passing of Holly and Robert.
Bobby had many friends because he knew how to be a good friend.
