Robert L. Hegner

Robert L. Hegner, beloved husband of Peggy Gibson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17th . Rob the son of renowned celebrity biographer, William Hegner and Martha Granville, a Cuban artist.

From an early age, Rob was fascinated with cars and how they worked. By the time he was thirty, he owned his own business repairing high-end automobiles in Montclair, New Jersey and was known throughout the area as the one person who could fix any car problem.

In his 30’s, he met his soul mate in Peggy, and they spent 35 wonderful years together, settling on the riverfront in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Rob became a topnotch house husband and managed a small consulting business.

He is survived by his wife and brothers, Eric and Marcus Wiener. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the Hilton Head Humane Association. Check back here if you wish information regarding the celebration of his life at Katie O’Donald’s to be determined soon.
