Robert Lawrence Kepner

October 12, 1941 — June 22, 2016

Robert “Bob” Kepner, passed away Wednesday, June 22nd at Coastal Carolina Hospital with his family and loved ones by his side. Bob was born on October 12, 1941 in St. Louis, Mo. He was the third child and first son for Martha and George Kepner. Bob attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. where he met his future wife, Nancy Cain. Bob and Nancy were married in 1964. Bob and Nancy raised two daughters Kerri and Lori, and lived throughout the United States as Bob advanced as a salesman for Ralston Purina. Eventually Bob settled in California, where he spent many happy years. Bob married his second wife, Marie Aikin, in 1997. Bob enjoyed his later years spending time with his family and traveling. Bob was fun-loving, an avid sports fan, wine collector, detailed organizer, traveler and stock market enthusiast. He loved to entertain, enjoyed food and was always a very gregarious, funny and charming host. Bob moved more than 40 times and developed friendships throughout the states. Bob finally settled down in Bluffton, S.C. where he and his wife, Marie, bought and decorated a beautiful home and made many lasting friends. Bob is survived by his two beloved daughters, Kerri Kepner and Lori Copeland, sisters, Edith Fields, Georgie Kepner, Debra Johannesen and brothers John Kepner and Jack Kepner. He is a grandfather to Morgan, Chase and Preston Copeland and father in-law to Alan Copeland. He has 17 nieces and nephews and many cousins that live around the world. His parents, Martha and I.G. Kepner and second wife, Marie Kepner, preceded him in death. Bob will be missed by many and forever in our hearts. Family and friends are welcome to share their memories and "celebrate" Bob's life on Monday June 27, 2016 at 5:00 pm at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton with burial at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm until the hour of the service. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to local humane society.
