Robert Buchanan Mears Sr.

Robert Buchanan Mears Sr., 83 of McCormick, SC passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Petra Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Tillman, SC on February 23, 1932 to the late John Harry and Mary Rebecca Nettles Mears. He was a retired Clemson Extension Agent. He was a Mason and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Deacon at Parksville Baptist Church; a former member and Deacon at McCormick Baptist Church and Plum Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Malphrus "˜Libby' Mears of McCormick, SC; three sons, Robert B. "˜Roban' Mears Jr. (Athena) of Hanahan, SC, Graylin P. "˜Sam' Mears (Peggy) of Aiken, SC and Julian K. Mears (Janice) of McCormick, SC; one daughter, Joye M. Terry (Wayne) of Lexington, SC; one brother, Homer Mears of North Augusta, SC; five sisters, Edith Nettles of Ridgeland, SC, Gertrude Smith of Charleston, SC, Dolly Ramsey of Early Branch, SC, Eliza Horton of Lexington, SC and Gladys DeLoach (Dick) of Ridgeland, SC; nine grandchildren, Trey, Wesley, Cassandra, Andrew, Benjamin, Christian and Kale (Joni) Mears, and Josh and Caleb Terry. He was predeceased by eight siblings, Raymond Mears, William Mears, Harold Mears, LeRoy Mears, Bennie Mears, Nettie Fitch, Shirley Murdaugh and Mary Alice Hudson and one daughter in law, Jan Corine Mears. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Parksville Baptist Church, Parksville, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am at the Church. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Ridgeland Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends from 7 til 8:00 pm, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Avenue, Ridgeland, SC. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Parksville Baptist Church, Parksville, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am at the Church. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Ridgeland Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends from 7 til 8:00 pm, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Avenue, Ridgeland, SC.
