Robert I. Neaton

Robert I. Neaton, age 77 of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Latham, NY died on Thursday, October 9, 2014 on Hilton Head Island, SC. Mr. Neaton was born in Troy, NY on November 29, 1936, the son of the late Irvin Neaton and Beatrice Mahoney Neaton. He is adored and survived by his loving wife, Ann Bulson Neaton; 4 children - sons, Daniel Neaton (Kerry) of Monroe, CT and Michael Neaton (Jennifer) of Potsdam, NY; daughters, Theresa Reich (Joseph) of Kingwood, TX and Linda Neaton (Juel Crawford) of Shelton, CT; 14 grandchildren - Justin, Brendan, Michael, Jeremy, Collin, Kelly, Francesca, Corey, Spencer, Mackenzie, Quincy, Xavier, Christian, and Devin; sisters- and brothers- in law - Mrs. Walter (Peg) Bulson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bulson, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Flanigan, Mrs. Richard (Suzanne) Gustason, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bulson; and an extended loving family of nieces and nephews. A veteran of the United States Navy, Bob was educated at Lasalle High School, Albany Business College and Siena College and worked 33 years for New York State, retiring as the Director of the Tax Audit Division. He was a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham, NY. He enjoyed being a member of the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus and the Sun City Veterans Association and was an avid golfer. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909 with reception following.
