Robert Wilson Sanders, Jr.

Robert Wilson Sanders, Jr., 84, of Okatie, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Wilson was born on August 30, 1941, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Duke University, where he earned a degree in Accounting, and later earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Wilson dedicated much of his professional life to education and retired from Florence-Darlington Technical College after a long and rewarding career as an educator. He was passionate about helping others and took great pride in the lives he touched throughout his career.

Above all, Wilson cherished his family. He will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for a good cup of coffee, and his unwavering enthusiasm for Duke basketball. His kindness, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wilson is survived by his children, Ben (LaDonna) Sanders, Jennifer Sanders, and Rob Sanders; his grandchildren, Noah, Matthew, Ella, and Davis Sanders, Adam (Lexi) Hendrix, and Zach (Carol) Micale.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gilda Sanders, and his parents, Robert Wilson Sanders and Virgie Lee Davis Sanders.

Wilson leaves behind a legacy of love, family, education, and memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
