Robert Tesler, an adventurous spirit with a lifelong love of travel and an unwavering fascination with trains, passed away surrounded by love on January 1, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on April 9, 1943, in Maryland, Robert grew up with a curious mind and a passion for discovery. His background in Electrical Engineering reflected his natural intelligence and love for problem-solving.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Lynne Tesler, with whom he recently celebrated 59 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted husband and father whose kindness, wit, and passion for life touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Robert leaves behind his two cherished sons, Adam Tesler and Hal Tesler. Adam is married to Bridget Tesler, and together they have two children, Nathan and Aidan, who brought immense joy to their grandfather’s life. Hal is in a loving relationship with his girlfriend Mandy Dease.
Robert’s intelligence was extraordinary, yet he carried himself with humility, never speaking down to anyone. His warmth and generosity of spirit made him a beloved figure among family and friends alike.
An avid traveler, Robert and his wife delighted in discovering new places and cultures, collecting experiences and stories that they loved to share with those around them. Additionally, he also nurtured a lifelong passion for trains, finding joy and wonder in their history, design, and movement.
In addition to his family, Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a reminder to embrace the journey of life with enthusiasm and an open heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC at 11:00am.
