​Roberta Sue Wurms

Roberta Sue Wurms, 79, of Bluffton, SC, wife of Charles Wurms, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head, SC.

Mrs. Wurms was born October 8, 1938 in Bronx, NY to the late Solomon Trachtenberg and Sylvia Swerdlow Trachtenberg. She was a graduate of Lehman University and received her Master’s degree from Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY. She was an educator at DeWitt Clinton High School in New York City, where she taught high school math. Later, she became the owner of Quality Electronics and Service in Florida, NY. A member of Temple Oseh Shalom, Mrs. Wurms’ calling in life was to help others and enjoyed caring for family, friends, and anyone in need.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wurms is survived by her sons, Seth Chesney (Barbara) of Goshen, NY and Roy Chesney (Michelle) of Campbell Hall, NY; step son, Scott Wurms (Debbie) of Shelton, CT; daughter, Laurie Jones (Chris) of Glen Spey, NY; step daughter, Melissa Squarzini (Michael) of Wappingers Falls, NY; sister, Judy Tirelli of Middletown, NY, and grandchildren, Jessica Stalker, Jake Chesney, Luke Jones, Leah Jones, Justin Squarzini, Jared Squarzini, Jessica Wurms, and Allison Wurms.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton.
