Rodney Wright

Rodney “Geech” Wright, 57, as he was lovingly called, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

He was born on January 22, 1969 in Hampton, SC to the late Joseph Green and Lorine Wright. He was a landscaper.

He is survived by four sisters, Veronica (Matthew) Bolden, Angela (James) Lee, Carolyn (Victor) Simmons, Jeanie (Marvin) Bolden, five brothers, Tony (Afrika) Wright, Marvin Wright, Darius (Brittany) Aiken, all of Ridgeland, SC; Joseph Green of Philadelphia, PA, Alexander (Latonya) Green of St. George, SC; five aunts, Albertha Pinckney, Jeanette Wright, Bernetta Wright, Catherine Bostick, all of Ridgeland, SC; one uncle, Walter (Bessie) Green of Ridgeland, SC. He also leaves to mourn four special nieces, Shakiema Bolden, Lakeisha Wright, Janiqua Bolden and Tykeema Wright all of Ridgeland, SC; two special nephews, James Lee, Jr. and Matthew Bolden, Jr. of Ridgeland, SC; two special cousins, Ladenier Mitchell and Shareka Wright and two special friends, Richard Brockington and Shania Douglas.

He was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Wright; paternal grandparents, Walter and Louise Green; maternal grandparents; Peter and Rosa Wright; aunts, Die, Aralee Gray, Dorothy Green, Rosa Lee Cohen; uncles, Peter Wright, Author Mitchell, Rudell Rice, Jake Mitchell, Elliott Mitchell, Jethro Mitchell, Wallace Wright, Sr. and Eddie Mitchell.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm at the Sauls Funeral Home Ridgeland Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 12 noon at the Mount Carmel Baptist Center in Ridgeland.

Burial will be announced at a later date.
