Rodney Wright

Rodney Wright, 57, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026 at MUSC in Charleston, S.C.

He was born in Hampton, S.C. on January 22, 1969, to the late Joseph Green and Lorine Wright. He was a landscaper. 

He is survived by sisters Veronica (Matthew) Bolden, Angela (James) Lee, Carolyn (Victor) Simmons, and Jeanie (Marvin) Bolden, brothers; Tony (Afrika) Wright, Marvin Wright, Darius (Brittany) Aiken, all of Ridgeland, SC.; Joseph Green (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania); Alexzander (Latonja) Green of St. George, aunts; Albertha Pinckney, Jeanette Wright, Ethel Wright, Bernetta Wright, Catherine Bostick all of Ridgeland, SC, and one uncle, Walter (Betsy) Green. 

He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Wright; paternal grandparents, Walter and Louise Green; maternal grandparents, Peter and Rosa Wright; aunts, Dorothy Green and Rosa Lee Cohen; uncles, Peter Knight, Auther Mitchell, Jake Mitchell, Elliott Mitchell, Jethroe Mitchell, and Wallace Wright Sr.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm at the Sauls Funeral Home Ridgeland Chapel. 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 12 noon at the Mount Carmel Baptist Center in Ridgeland.
