Roger Peter Gowan

Roger Peter Gowan, 85 of Bluffton, SC passed away at his home on Saturday, April 2, 2011. He was born in New York City on December 21, 1925. He was the son of the late Tom and Caroline Marshall Gowan.He was a truck driver in the construction business. He was a Christian. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and served in the European Theatre. He enjoyed cooking and fishing with his family. He was a handyman that could fix anything.He is survived by his wife, Maria Marvelia Gowan of Bluffton and his brother, Jim Janson of New York. He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Gowan.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 7, 2011 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial in the Beaufort National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 til 4 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the funeral home.
