Romy was born on August 7, 1946 in Manila, Philippines. He was the eldest of four brothers born to Gregorio and Coronacion Bondoc. He graduated from Villamor High School and University of the East with a degree in accounting. He became a CPA and worked as the chief accountant for Soriamont Steamship Agencies in the Philippines.

He married the love of his life Emilie in 1974 and immigrated to the United States.  They lived in NYC and moved to New Jersey in 1978. He worked as a controller for several companies before he began his career at the Bank of New York, where he worked for 20 years before retiring as an Assistant Vice President.

After living on Manila Avenue in Jersey City for 7 years they moved to Old Bridge in 1985. There they raised their daughters Darlene and Kristine along with their “boys” (dogs) Jordan and Shane. After early retirement from the Bank of New York, Romy found himself needing a social outlet. He took a part time job at Sovereign Bank (Santander) where he was able to use his Spanish speaking skills to cater to his customers. Once Emilie retired from nursing he decided to retire again. Now empty nesters they decided it was time to sell the family home and start the next chapter in their lives. In 2014, they moved to Sun City in Bluffton, SC. There they joined Romy’s best friends/childhood classmates where they not only enjoyed the warmer climate but found a new community of friends.

Romy is preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Coronacion (Resano) Bondoc; brother Loido, and his “boys” (dogs) Jordan and Shane. He is survived by his wife Emilie (Maglaqui) Bondoc of 47 years, Daughter Darlene Bondoc, her partner Matthew Breton, granddog Maddox, Daughter Kristine Bondoc, her partner Leo Gamboa, granddog Astro; Brothers Armin Bondoc and Ariel Bondoc
