RONALD GENE BURCHART
NOV. 28, 1941 – FEB. 14, 2025
On Valentine’s Day, our collective hearts were broken with the passing of Ron Burchart. His infectious laugh was recognizable from near and far, as was the accompanying smile. A walking dichotomy, he was loving and tough, affable and tenacious, stubborn and kind. He was a straight shooter, even when you’d rather not hear it, yet his delivery somehow remained compassionate and forgiving.
A learned man, his intelligence was boundless and easily evident. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in theoretical mathematics, which is the study of abstract mathematical structures driven by intellectual curiosity and logical reasoning. Whenever siblings shared their many humorous stories, Ron routinely was entrusted to serve as the family fact-checker for confirmation. His many interests were diverse, whether it be history, literature, art, gardening, auto repair or lending a hand restoring houses, et al. He was the “cultured” brother. He baked croissants, went to the symphony and drank expensive wines. His determination and strong work ethic helped him conquer adversity. He was a family man and a man of honor, who was nurturing and protective of those he loved. All this while blessed with a keen sense of humor.
Ron is survived by his loving partner, Elizabeth Fenlon, and her family, daughters Debbie Rohde, Nicole Fulcher, Jeannette Hans, and their families, brothers Gary and Larry Burchart, and their families.
