Ronald G. Hillstrom

Ronald Hillstrom 81 of Bluffton, South Carolina passed away at his home on February 2, 2024.  Ron was born in Oakland, California on October 19, 1942 but spent most of his youth in Long Beach, California. He is predeceased in death by his parents, his brother Dennis and his daughter Kimberly

Upon graduation from high school Ron joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17.  He served honorably for 20 years and retired at the rank of Gunnery Sargeant.   While in the Marine Corps he met his wife of 60 years, Sandra Wagner.

Upon retirement he and his family resided in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was employed by Dominion Resources North Anna Nuclear Power Station in Safety and Security.   After his retirement from Dominion Recourses and Sandra’s retirement they moved to Corolla, North Carolina to enjoy the beach life for a few years before moving to Sun City.

Ron enjoyed life, family and especially retirement.

Ron is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Kelly, granddaughter Jade, and soon to be great-grandson Brody.

A Military Honors service will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery on February 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
