Ronald (Ron) Allen Costello passed away the morning of August 6th after experiencing heart complications. Ron was born May 14, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland, always claiming his hometown to be upstate in the Adirondack Mountains of Madison, NY.

Ron excelled in high school sports playing 3 years of varsity baseball, basketball, and football. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and was hospitalized in Beaufort Naval Hospital for treatment and recovery. He fell in love with the Low Country and never left declaring it home. He was involved in many Youth Recreation programs in Beaufort County and later assisted with the birth of Gator Football and the construction of Barker Field.
He served as department manager at Harris Teeter on Hilton Head Island, owner/operator of Carolina Activities Bus Company, and was an ardent supporter of Hilton Head Island Youth sports. He was a proud volunteer of Hilton Head High School Seahawk athletics serving in a multitude of roles including Public Address announcer, scorekeeper, statistician, bus driver, and clock operator. In 2005, he was the first volunteer to be inducted into the Hilton Head High School Hall of Fame for his dedication and tireless efforts giving back to the community.
