Ross Mills Legler

Ross Mills Legler died at home on June 16, 2011. He was born December 17, 1925 in Chicago, IL and is predeceased by his parents, Henry W. Legler and Helen W. Legler. Ross is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret J. Legler of Sun City, SC, his beloved children, daughter Penelope Strong of Oak Park, IL, son Bruce of Sackets Harbor, NY and son Kenneth (Lisa) from Reading, MA. In addition, Ross leaves behind three much loved stepdaughters; Katherine (Howard) Verman of Charlotte, VT, Emily (Peter) Foley of Savannah, GA and Susan (Robert) Horr of Sackets Harbor, NY. The grandchildren include Nathaniel and Cecily Strong, Alexander and Julia Legler, David, Sam and Zachary Horr, Stephen and William Verman and Caitlin (Jeffrey) Phillips. He also leaves a sister Joann (Robert) Jenkins and brother Robert (Anita) Legler. Ross thrived on family and long- time friends. He and Margaret travelled throughout the country in order to celebrate holidays, graduations and ceremonies with all their grandchildren. Ross graduated from his beloved Taft School and attended Trinity College in Connecticut after serving three years in the U.S Navy from 1943-46. He made annual visits to Taft to see old friends and helped to raise scholarship funds for NH students with the
