JohnsonEarly Branch, SCSadie Elizabeth Smith Johnson, 84, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.She was born in Jasper County, SC on May 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Rufus Virgil and Mamie Cope Smith.She was a graduate of Grays High School and Rice Business College of Charleston, SC. She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church in Grays, SC where she taught Sunday school for forty years. She served as a Trustee and contributed land for the new sanctuary in 1994. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Webster Johnson of Early Branch, SC; two children, Linda Martin (Brent) Dailey of Ridgeland, SC and Michael V. (Beverly)Martin and of Hilton Head, SC; five grandchildren, Mychele Cook Rhodes of Thomson, GA; Kristen Cook Johnson of Yemassee, SC; Brian Michael Martin of Miami Beach, FL; Jessica Martin and Tyler Martin of Hilton Head, SC; one great grandchild, Reagan Elizabeth Rhodes and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Pine Level Baptist Church with interment in Grimes cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 til 8 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland, 310 W.
