Sally Ann Marmeno

Sept. 13, 1942 – Dec. 31, 2023

Sally Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY where she grew up a tough city “Tom Boy” before moving out to Long Island in 1952. She graduated from Lindenhurst High School in 1960, married, lived, worked and raised her family. In April 1998, she moved down south to the lovely Hilton Head Island. She worked for many years as one of the top kitchen and bath designers in the area. After retiring, she enjoyed participating in water aerobics and various book clubs, playing Mahjong, attending daily mass and volunteering at her church. She frequently spent time with her sister, Mary Stauch, in N. Palm Beach, Florida. She adored her children, David Marmeno of Montauk, NY and Nadine Morris of Bluffton, SC and her four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kailey, Taylor and Courtney. Sally was surrounded by the love of her family and friends in the last three months of her illness and holding the hands of both of her children as she took her final breath and met her Lord and Savior.

A mass will be held for Sally Ann at Holy Family Catholic Church, 24 Pope Ave, Hilton Head Island on Thursday, January 4 at 11:00 am. All are welcome. She will then be brought back to Long Island, NY and laid to rest beside her parents at the Pinelawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice in Sally Ann Marmeno’s honor at 329 Friends Lane, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
