Samuel (Sam) Clayton Sarratt Sr., 77, of Greenville, SC, passed away on March 7, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Peggy) Hinton Sarratt; his brother Paul Mako; his daughter Heather Hebert and her husband James; his son Clay Sarratt and his wife JoAnn; his daughter Mary Elizabeth Swofford and her husband Brent; and four grandchildren; Katherine, Clayton, Everett and Mitchell.
Sam was the son of Corrine Turner David and Samuel Shaw Sarratt.
Sam was a registered architect in South Carolina after graduating from Clemson University in 1963. Sam worked for Daniel Construction, later known as Flour Corporation in which he worked for 24 years. He left Flour and began his own company Sarratt Associates and retired in August of 2007 from Green Arch LLC as Principal Architect. Sam enjoyed his family, gardening, his work and Clemson football.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
