After graduating in 1973 she worked as a RN at the Lester L. Cox Medical Center in Springfield. Four years later Sandra moved to Knoxville TN where she worked in Critical and Cardiac Care Units at the University of Tennessee Hospital. She was a loving, caring and compassionate woman. She enjoyed the Low Country by fishing, crabbing and shrimping but the best part was the trying out new recipes. She was an excellent chef. Having a year-round garden and flowers that drew the birds in were another joy. Sunsets along Sawmill Creek and the Colleton River were her favorites.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth Lawler in Dawson Missouri, her son Michasl Alex and her husband Michael (Bluffton) along with the many friends she has made over the years. Thanks to Elrick Major(Daddy Rick), The Staff of Sprenger Health , Compassus Hospice and Coastal Carolina for their compassion during her final days. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. Please consider remembrance’s to Heroes on Horseback, Children’s Relief Fund and Programs for Exceptional People (PEP). We’re going to miss Sandy very much. She’s already scouting the river looking for the perfect spot where she will reunite with her husband and son Mikey who will be free from his chair. Rest easy sweet lady, We love you very much.
