Sharon Lee Knott, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elmira, New York, Sharon was the daughter of Leonard and Mary Colson Wojnarek. She grew up in Elmira and later lived in Greenlawn, New York, before making her home in Bluffton, South Carolina. Throughout her life, Sharon remained deeply connected to her family and to the places that shaped her. Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Knott; her children, Meredith (John) Walker and Colin (Vinka) Knott; her grandchildren, Megan Walker, Ryan Walker, Kristian Knott, Matej Knott and Luka Knott; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Sharon and Bill shared a loving marriage and a life filled with family, friendship, and adventure. One of their greatest joys was traveling together. They enjoyed discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, and creating memories along the way.
She was an especially wonderful grandmother and took great pride in her grandchildren. She loved attending their sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines, and celebrating their accomplishments. Sharon treasured every moment with her grandchildren and created memories they will carry with them throughout their lives. Sharon was also deeply loved by the extended Knott family. She was a cherished daughter-in-law of the late William and Eleanor "Flossie" Knott and shared many years of family memories with Bill's brothers, sister, and their families. She will be remembered with love by Timothy and Brigid Knott, Susan and William Haug, Wendy Knott (Edward) and their children and grandchildren, including Liam, Michael, Breda, Katherine, Kimberly, Lauren, and Billy.
Sharon leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so completely and the lasting impression she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 10:30 am, Thursday, September 10, 2026, followed by a memorial gathering at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton.
