Sharon K Mccarty

Sharon K. McCarty, 81, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at her son’s home in Bluffton, SC.

She was born in Springfield, IL, December 19, 1942, the daughter of Donald and Isabel (Neely) Taylor. She married Fred E. McCarty June 26, 1960. She was a long-time resident of Springfield and Sherman, IL and moved to South Carolina with family in 2020.

Sharon retired from Franklin Life after many years of service. She also worked at Eagle Country Market.

She was a devoted mother, always putting her family first and ensuring they were taken care of in her own special way. Her life was filled with joy and love, especially when she was surrounded by her grandchildren.  She cherished every moment spent with them and loved creating memories that will be treasured forever. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed making custom cakes, watching news programs, making sure her family always had sweets and snacks, and always being the go-to sitter for her granddaughters and grand dogs!

She found peace and happiness in these simple pleasures and was always grateful for the time spent with her loved ones.

Sharon will be deeply missed by her family but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Gillette and her beloved cat, Kiki.

Surviving are her two sons, Brian (Ann Volle) McCarty of Bluffton SC, and Jeff (Linh Mai) McCarty of Keller, TX; four granddaughters, Tia, Jenna, Phoenix and Zaida; four grand dogs Junebug, Rory, Nompi, and Hemi; Three grand cats Shadow, Kalisi, and Mew.
