Shawn Dale Crouch

Shawn Dale Crouch, age 51, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully after reciting The Lord’s Prayer on Thursday February 18, 2016 at his home, after a life long struggle of anxiety and depression. Shawn was born in Bedford, IN and was the son of the late John Jack Crouch and late Marjorie Webb Roberts. He was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School in 1983. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1987 from the University of Evansville, IN. In 1984 he had the opportunity to participate in the undergraduate study abroad program of the University of Evansville British Campus at Harlaxton College, Grantham, England. Early in his career, Shawn worked as an accountant in Bedford, IN and in Merritt Island, FL. In 1997 he founded Renaissance Mortgage Group, a Licensed Correspondent Lender, located in Merritt Island, FL. He worked there as CEO and Mortgage Broker until 2010. After 2010, he continued to work as a mortgage banker with other financial institutions in Florida and in Bluffton, SC. Shawn’s greatest joy was being able to assist first time home buyers get approved for their dream home. Although Shawn left us too soon, we will cherish the many memories he left behind. He appreciated architecture and home re-design, but especially enjoyed spending quality time with friends over a glass of fine wine during special trips to Napa, The Adirondacks, Kennebunkport and Tuscany. Shawn was a compassionate, loving, smart and above all, selfless, gentleman and will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched. Shawn is survived by his wife Lisa Anne Crouch (Roberts) with whom he shared 25 years of loving marriage. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, John Crouch. On his mother’s side, he is preceded in death by his half brother, Kip Webb, and survived in death by his half brothers, Mark Webb and Mike Webb. On his father’s side, he is survived by his half brothers Tom Crouch, Tim Crouch and Danny Crouch and by his half sisters Cathy Crouch, Margie McBride and Barbara Will. Shawn is also survived by his step mother, Helen Crouch Baker, and his step sisters, Pamela Long, Carla Maxwell and Brenda Cummins. Shawn is also survived by his in-laws, Howard and Jean Roberts, as well as sisters-in-law, Renee Hart and Terri Rice along with many nieces and nephews in his extended family. Shawn also leaves behind his beloved feline Tonkinese furry “kids”, Maximus and Piccolo. Shawn did not desire a memorial service. Instead, intimate ash scattering ceremonies in celebration of his life will be held at later dates with family and friends.
