Sheila Pittman Terry, 54, of Early Branch, South Carolina, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.
Sheila was born January 17, 1972, in Savannah, Georgia. She was the loving wife of Jamie Terry and the best mother to her son, Adam Pittman, and daughter, Carli Deloach and her fiancé, AJ Griffin.
Sheila was preceded in death by her daughter, Leanna, beloved mother, Alene “Nana” Payne, and grandmother, Ethel “Granny” Turner, with whom she is now joyfully reunited in Heaven. Left to cherish her memory are husband, Jamie Terry; her son, Adam Pittman; her daughter, Carli Deloach and her fiancé, A.J. Griffin, and his wonderful children, C.J. and Rowan; her brother, Chris Pittman, and his wife, Christina Pittman; nephews, Jimmy Simmons (Alexis), Paul Simmons (Brittany), and Christopher Pittman; niece, Crystal Grantham (Roy); Mother-in-Law, Thelma Rowland; Brother-in-Law, Dale Terry; Sister-in-Law, Tammy Harmon (Michael); “puppy dogs,” Sophie, Chewy, and Isabella; and “kitty cat,” Millie. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing her.
Sheila was an incredible person whose warmth could be felt by everyone around her. She truly never met a stranger. Whether she had known someone for years or had only just met them, Sheila had a special way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and seen. She had an especially tender heart for those who might otherwise be overlooked, and she made sure they knew they mattered.
Sheila loved music, animals of every kind, anything that could bring a little more joy into the world, and comfortable clothes; if it wasn’t comfortable, she wasn’t wearing it! She loved to laugh, but perhaps even more, she loved making other people laugh. She was never afraid to make herself look silly if it meant putting a smile on someone’s face. Whether it was one of her silly voices, a goofy moment, or one of her famously-loud burps that could catch an entire room off guard, Sheila knew how to make people laugh and she never took herself too seriously.
She embraced life wholeheartedly and carried with her an endless optimism that could brighten a room and lift the spirits of those around her. Sheila found joy in being herself and gave the people around her permission to do the same. Her warmth, humor, kindness, and genuine love for people and animals left an impression wherever she went.
Sheila will be remembered not only for the joy she brought into the lives of her family and friends, but also for the countless moments of kindness she gave so freely. Her ability to see the good in life and the value in every person was one of her greatest gifts. Those who knew and loved Sheila will carry her laughter, her warmth, and her beautiful spirit with them always.
