Shelby J. Heape Swartz

Shelby J. Heape Swartz, 70, of Hardeeville, SC and formerly of Walnutport, PA died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Hilton Head Hospital. Shelby was formerly married to Thomas R. Cooler of Hardeeville. Mrs. Swartz was born on October 16, 1944 in Ridgeland, SC, the daughter of the late E. Wendell Heape and Izora Elizabeth Priester Heape. She worked as a convenient store manager for many years. She was a member of Red Dam Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and shopping in thrift stores and yard sales. She baked cakes to donate to volunteers at Goodwill and other charitable organizations. Mrs. Swartz was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Heape and Daniel "˜Bubba' Heape and her sister, Margie Selph. She is survived by her sons, Michael R. Cooler (Chrissy) and Timothy D. Cooler (Roseann), all of Hardeeville, SC; daughter, Missy J. Horton (Tony) of Bluffton, SC; brother in law, Morris Selph of McRae, GA; grandchildren, Nikki Watson, Paul "Bubba" Cooler, Chelsea Cooler, Alex Cooler, Naomi Legath, Brandon Legath, Alysia Cooler, Raymond Cooler, Lauren Creel, Tyler Horton, and Brandon Horton; and great-grandchildren, Elliott Watson, V, Ethan Watson, Mallory Horton, Tristan Luiz, Kaidan Horton, Sadie Creel, and Cloey DeLoache. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 26,2 015 at the Red Dam Baptist Church, Hardeeville with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 til 8, Friday evening at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.
