Shirley M. LongRidgeland, SCShirley Malphrus Long, 72, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. She was born in Ridgeland, SC on October 26, 1940 to the late Carey W. Malphrus and Alma Mock Malphrus. She was a homemaker and former employee of Holiday Wear Manufacturing; member, Great Swamp Baptist Church and volunteered for Palmetto Electric Cooperative.She is survived by her three sons, William Carl Long, Jr., Richard Lamar Long and William Joseph Long, all of Ridgeland, SC; brother, Burton L. (Carolyn) Malphrus of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Whitney Long, Taylor Sexton, Matthew Carl Long, Ashley May Long, Daniel Lee Long, Joshua Dean Long, Beth Lawanda Long and William Joseph (Ashley) Long, Jr. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Ann Long and brother, C. W. Malphrus.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Great Swamp Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
