Stanley Richard Ball completed his Earthly journey on October 16, 2022. He passed due to complications from cancer. He lost his battle at home surrounded by loved ones.
Stanley was born in Washington, D.C. on December 17, 1942, the son of Julia C. and Stanley Ball, Sr. He was a devoted husband to Phyllis J. Ball for over 58 years and loving father to Scott R. Ball and Christopher M. Ball. He is survived by his wife, two sons, five grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Stanley attended and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Civil Engineering. This is also where he met his beautiful wife, Phyllis. They then moved to Pittsburgh, PA, where he helped construct bridges and roads with his best friend, George Clendaniel. Stanley and Phyllis would live in Pittsburgh for 53 years before retiring to Bluffton, SC in October of 2017.
Stanley loved to golf and took great pleasure in the outdoors, although his main passion in life was spending time with his wife, Phyllis.
