Stanley Peter (Sparkey) Kozanecki

Stanley Peter (Sparkey) Kozanecki of Bluffton, SC, 94, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Life Care Center of Hilton Head Island, SC.He was born in Maspeth, NY on April 29, 1914. He was the son of the late Paul Kozanecki and Catherine Sarnowski Kozanecki. He was retired from Northwest Airlines. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a former semi pro football player for the Maspeth Trojans; an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Sun City Veterans and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife, Rose R. Kozanecki of Bluffton, SC; two daughters, Joan (DeWitt) McGuire of Bluffton, SC and Carol (Dieter) Boes of Callawassie Island, SC; four grandchildren, James McGuire of Cleveland, OH, Timothy McGuire, Jeremey Stewart and Olivia Mae McGuire all of Norfolk, VA; and two great grandchildren.Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 til 8, Thursday evening, June 5, 2008 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Sun City Veterans Club, c/o Commander Bill McMoil, 445 Co. T.
