Stanley J. Weissman

Stanley J. Weissman, age 77, of Hilton Head Island, SC and formerly of Astoria, NY died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Hilton Head Hospital. Mr. Weissman was born on July 6, 1940 in Flushing, NY, the son of the late Jacob and Marguerite Weissman. He attended Queens College and later began working as a sheet metal worker, retiring after many years of service as a superintendent with Local 28 in New York, NY. He was an avid golfer and member of the Dolphin Head Golf Club at Hilton Head Island. Mr. Weissman was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Janet M. Weissman. He is survived by his children, Keith A. Weissman (Katherine), Tracey Weissman-Eggers (John R. Eggers), Shari Leigh Lloyd, Frank A. Abbott, and Catherine Abbott-Giansaricusa; sister, Elaine; grandchildren, Taylor, Katherine, Elijah, Sophia, Reilly, Addison, Abbey, and Thomas; significant other, Jackie Poteet; and beloved fuzzy friend, Gizmo. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.
