Stella G. Angelillo

Stella G. Angelillo, 94, of Bluffton, SC passed away on August 6, 2016 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville, SC.

Stella was born on June 25, 1922 in New York City, New York to the late Stenly and Sophie Gawrysiak. She was an artist at heart, growing up in the East Village of New York City. She was involved in design from an early age with clothes, painting, and ceramics which she did for 20 years. She married Joseph, who was persistent and as Stella said, she finally gave in and married him since he would not leave her alone. They had two lovely children, Dennis and Georgia and ended up in Blue Point in Long Island for almost 50 years before taking the journey and moving to the Low Country of South Carolina, where her daughter resides. She loved mahjong and recently, in Sun City, had acquired a passion for playing canister. Everyone who came in contact with Stella loved her and she always made them laugh with her stories.

Stella is survived by her son, Dennis Angelillo of East Patchogue, NY and daughter, Georgia L. Angelillo Colonna (Bob) of Bluffton, SC. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Angelillo and her brother, John Garvis.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm, Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with arrangements.
