Beloved Husband, Dedicated Father and Loyal Friend

Age 79

Long time resident of the Bronx, NY, as well as Medford, Long Island, NY, most recently resided in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Left this world after a valiant fight with cancer on August 16, 2023 at Caroline’s Cottage in Ridgeland, South Carolina, lying contentedly beside his wife and having been visited by his sons and others who loved him deeply and gratefully shared in his last moments.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 19,1944 to parent Charles and Claire Brazil.  Was one of three children, survived by his two sisters, Jacqueline and Sondra.  His father passed away when he was eight years old, and his mother remarried about a year later and they moved to the Bronx and brought in three more children (step sisters).

In the Bronx he enjoyed a happy childhood and young adulthood including friendships with Shelley, Bob, and Paul.  Was obsessed with cars and when he was 18 he met a 16 year old beauty named Gail at temple.  Their romance blossomed and two years later they were married.  Their first child, Charles arrived in 1968, followed three years later by Joshua.  After Josh was born, they moved their new family to far eastern Long Island, NY and made a home in Medford.  Six years after moving to Long Island, their youngest son Daniel was born.

After he moved to Long Island, he attended school to learn computers and secured employment with a company called TTI and later moved over to Citicorp which required him to move to work in Long Island City.  He rose through the ranks of that organization, ultimately retiring as an Assistant Vice President (AVP).

His enthusiasm for cars spanned his entire life and was passed on to his children.  Both Steve and Gail remained involved in temple B’nai Israel, where they assured that all three sons received bar mitzvah.  He was always involved in car projects, house projects and other things involving mechanics and building.

He was most proud of his boys and their success and love for their family.  Lifelong friendships and his dog Chase.  He had a wonderful sense of humor that he was always known for and a gregarious and outgoing personality that people immediately warmed to and enjoyed.

Survived by his wife, Gail Audrey, children Charlie Scott, Joshua David and Daniel Ian and their wives Tammy, Joanne and Ioana, his two sisters and his grandchildren Janna, Jacob, Holden and Luca as well as his stalwart companion Chase, who Gail is caring for in his absence.

Predeceased by his father and mother.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 24, 2023 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton.
