Steven B. Weissman of Hilton Head Island, age 60, died suddenly of a heart attack on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home in Sea Pines Plantation.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Steven moved to Hilton Head in 1985 to pursue life in South Carolina with his now former wife Barbara O'Leary. Together they raised their daughter, Kristin, who was married March 29th of this year. Steven was a gentle man with a warm smile and kind heart. He placed his heart and soul into his business, and in May of this year, his daughter joined him in the family business. Kristin will continue to operate the store with her husband Thomas Logan Cambron. She hopes to make her father proud by keeping this family business in operation and providing excellent service well into the years to come.
When not at work, Steven loved sports cars, gardening, theater and the tranquility of his home. An avid reader with a love of history and a passion for writing, he published his manuscript Bountiful Creek in 2012. He had many friends in the literary community. The family and friends mourn his sudden passing.
