Sylvia Rose Mancuso, 58, of Bluffton, SC, passed away on February 10, 2018 after a 13 month battle with Ovarian Cancer. Sylvia was born on an American Military Base in France on April 20, 1959. She graduated from Silver Creek High School and continued on to receive a Nursing Degree from San Jose State University. Most of her life was spent in San Jose, CA before relocating with her family to Alpharetta, GA in 1996. Sylvia was married to Ronald Mancuso on September 14, 1985. They were married for 32 wonderful years Sylvia worked as a Nurse Navigator for the Telfair Breast Center at St. Joseph’s-Candler. Prior to that she was a nurse at Northside Cherokee, North Fulton Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital, with over 30 years’ service in the medical field. Sylvia was also actively involved in her church, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a social butterfly and lit up the room with her smile. The world will forever be a better place because of her. Sylvia is survived by her husband Ronald Mancuso, children Lauren Heldreth (Matthew Heldreth) and Christopher Mancuso (Ali Woodbury), beloved grandchild Brooks Heldreth, parents, Renee and Ross Sobania, sister, Chantal Chiapetto (Steve Chiapetto), brothers-in-law, Randy Mancuso (Theresa Mancuso), Rick Mancuso (Sue Mancuso), step daughter Tara Keiser (J. Paul Keiser) and other family and friends. The funeral service will be held at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, GA on Tuesday, February 20th at 10:00 am. An additional memorial mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas in Alpharetta, GA on February 23rd at 10:30 am. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Ovarian Cancer Institute, with a note written in Sylvia’s name and mailed to 960 Johnson Ferry Rd. Suite 130. Atlanta, GA 30342.
