Teresa Pharr Parker, 69, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully at her home, where she was surrounded by her family, on March 28, 2022. Teresa was a fun-loving, sweet, and caring person who was full of energy and life. She loved being around her friends and family, and especially loved being around her grandchildren.
Teresa was born in 1952 to William Pharr and Nell Ashburn and was raised in Decatur, GA. Teresa graduated from the University of South Carolina and spent much of her career serving her community as a South Carolina Department of Social Services social worker. For many years, she also owned and managed shoe stores around the Lowcountry with her late husband. Outside of work, Teresa enjoyed living in the Lowcountry and spent much of her time outdoors boating and kayaking with friends and family. She loved feeling warmth from the sunshine, especially when out on the May River and Colleton River. When she was not on the water, Teresa enjoyed listening to music and dancing with her friends.
Teresa was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 36 years, Benjamin Rhodes Parker. She is survived by her children Chadwick R. Parker of Bluffton, SC; Michelle M. (Matthew) Bradford of Bluffton, SC; Ashley P. (Michael) Bender of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her stepchildren Catherine P. (Shelton) Culpepper of Summerville, SC; William H. Breazeale of Las Vegas, NV; and her grandchildren Parker Bradford; Ryland and Grayson Bender; Sarah Culpepper, and Darienne Breazeale. She is also survived by her siblings Shirley (Donald) True of Armuchee, GA; Betty (Gary) Farr, Olney, MD; Saundra (Lou, deceased) Petroni, Smyrna, GA; Neal (Maryann) Pharr, Grayson, GA; Vicki (Joel) Volpi, Cornelia, GA, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun St. (Historic Campus), Bluffton, SC, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Rose Hill Colleton Point Landing Pavilion House, located at 1 Pavilion Point Drive, Bluffton, SC.
