Thaddeus Morton Boggs IV, 62, of Bluffton, SC passed away suddenly in his sleep early Sunday, November 9, 2025. Born on June 24, 1963 in Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City to Julia Williams and the late Thaddeus “Thad” Boggs III, and eldest brother to Garratt Williams and Elizabeth Boggs.
“TM” moved to Myrtle Island from Hilton Head in 1980 and played for the May River Patriots football team from 1978 to 1981. He then graduated with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, Class of 1987, from University of South Carolina and attended the Nyenrode Business School in The Netherlands from 1984 through 1985..
His life took him westward to Vail, Colorado where he explored his love of the outdoors, skiing, rafting, and meeting lifelong friends and his future wife, Suzanne Parker Boggs, who they were together for 33 years strong; many of their greatest experiences happened on the Colorado River and in the Grand Canyon National Park.
In 1997, he returned to Bluffton to take care of his father’s estate, married his wife in 1998, and had two proud sons: William Oconee Boggs of Rock Hill, SC and Jackson Marshall Boggs, USCG Marathon. He served as the Scoutmaster of Scouting USA Troop-241 from 2014 to 2019, watching both of his sons gain the rank of Eagle Scout, and guiding many other young adults in their own love of the outdoors.
TM will be deeply missed and will be further remembered by his family, friends, and the contribution he gave to the outdoors. In lieu of flowers, we ask friends and family to donate back to the outdoors, specifically the Grand Canyon Trust and the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network, so his soul can return to the rivers he loved with all his heart.
