Dr. Theodore €Œtedâ€& Kottraba

Dr. Theodore "Ted" Morrison Kottraba, age 84, of Sun City, SC and formerly of Warren, PA passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at home with his wife, Eva by his side. Dr. Kottraba was born on February 8, 1931 in Butler, PA, the son of the late Dr. James Morrison Kottraba and Georgia Binder Kottraba. He attended school in Butler, where he excelled in basketball. He received his formal education from the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned degrees in Dentistry as well as Orthodontics. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as a Naval Dentist. He practiced as an Orthodontist with Warren Dental Arts in Warren, PA for many years. He was of the Presbyterian faith and was active in the First Presbyterian Church while living in Warren, serving as Deacon and Elder. He served as the Chairman of the Fundraising Committee for the Warren YMCA. Outside of his dental practice and civic involvement, Dr. Ted was an avid golfer, winning many tournaments over the years. His many interests included magic, card tricks, and photography. Dr. Kottraba was preceded in death by his late wife, Jacqueline Kottraba. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Eva Benson Kottraba; daughter, Patty Rose of Fredericksburg, VA; son, Tom Kottraba (Nancy) of Madison, WI; granddaughter, Elise Lieser (Scott) of Blaine, MN; sister, Carole Grence of Butler, PA; stepsons, Greg Benson (Bev) of Havertown, PA and Channing Benson of Boulder, CO; step-grandchildren, Lily, Paul, Sam, and Max Benson; and sisters-in-law, Judy Anderson of Sun City, SC and Meredith Cook of Chesterfield, MO. A private funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. A special thanks to the caregivers, Josette, Anniel, Joan, and hospice nurse, Jenna. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Care of the Low Country or any charity of choice. A private funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.
