Thomas Durant Deakin

Thomas Durant Deakin, 81, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home in Bluffton, SC. He was born in Pittsburg, PA on August 31, 1926. He was the son of the late Horace and Gladys Mae King Deakin.He moved to Bluffton in 1998 from Pittsburg, PA. He was a retired in 1986 as a retail meat distributor. He was a church organist at the Church Of The Epiphany in Avalon, PA for thirty years. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of the Pittsburg Musical Institute. He sang with the Hilton Head Choral Society for eight years and he was a member of Church Of The Cross.He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Carolyn J. Deakin of Bluffton, SC; three daughters, Pamela (Robert) Schloer and Carole (Rodney) Owen all of Bluffton, SC and Deborah Deakin of Sewickley, PA. and grandchildren, Thomas Schloer, Lindsey Schloer, Kelsey Nickel, Whitney Jennings and Jason Jennings.Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Church Of the Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, SC.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Church of the Cross, P.O.
