Thomas J. Gillen

Thomas Joseph Gillen, age 79, of Bluffton, SC, and Brunson, SC passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at MUSC Charleston, SC. He was born on July 8, 1944 in Mitchel Field, NY, to his late parents; Thomas Joseph Gillen and Marion Nappe-Gillen.

Tom started his work life as a steam fitter, then opened a mechanical contracting company in New Milford, CT.  He moved to SC with his wife Trish Bolton and opened a remodeling contracting company.  Tom’s love of hunting resulted in his creation of The Farm.  Tom was also a very talented artist creating beautiful wooden items from the lathe.

Survivors include his loving wife Patricia Bolton; children: son, Thomas L. Gillen (Cheryl) a daughter, Tracey D. Gillen; grandchildren; Courtney Bennetti (Tom) and Brett Boski; brothers: Gary Gillen and William Gillen (Susan).

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, Friday, February 16, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home, Bluffton. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice in honor of Tom.
