Thomas “Tom” Malta, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, made his journey to heaven on March 31st, 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer. Tom passed away surrounded by his family in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Tom was born on November 6th, 1963 in Staten Island, New York, to Sandra and James Malta. Tom attended St. Peter’s Boys High School, where he shared many fond memories with his friends, affectionately known as the BOD. Tom met his wife, Tricia, early in his life and later married his high school sweetheart in their hometown.
Tom had an admirable and successful career in computer security, holding different job titles throughout his life, including CEO of IAM Experts, and Senior Principal of Industries and IAM Security Architect at his former employer, Okta.
Tom and Tricia were married in 1984 and celebrated 40 years of marriage this past July. They were true life partners and best friends, always exemplifying what it means to dedicate their lives to one another.
Tom is survived by his wife, Tricia, his sons, Christopher and Jackson, his daughter, Alexandria, his brother, Robert, Christopher’s girlfriend Kayleigh, and countless other family members and friends.
Besides spending time with his family, which was his ultimate joy, Tom had a passion for traveling, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, trying new food, and sitting on his screen porch with a stogie and a glass of tequila on the rocks. Tom was warmth incarnate, radiating joy to everyone around him. His contagious laughter filled any room that he stepped into. Tom touched many people with his generosity, happy-go-lucky spirit, and passion for life.
