Thomas E. Salata of Bluffton SC, departed this life on June 10, 2012. He is survived by his children Kelly Salata Marlow of Canton, Georgia, and J Thomas Salata of Alpharetta, Georgia. The lights of his life were his grandchildren Morgan, Eric, Carolyn and Isabella. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College which he faithfully and regularly visited since 1960. He was a talented and popular ballroom dancer, baseball fan and avid tennis player. Tom was committed to helping the people of the South Carolina low country as a volunteer at the Red Cross and Lowcountry Habitat for Humanity. His second family was his friends and neighbors at Sun City in Bluffton SC, where he lived every day to its fullest and loved all. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Hospice Care of the Low Country www.hospicecarelc.org, or the Miracle League, a non-profit baseball league for children with special needs at www.nmml.net. Services are to be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton with burial in St. Luke
