Thomas Edward Saxon, Sr., 87, died Monday, July 13, 2015 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC.
He was born in Ridgeland, SC on December 22, 1927 to the late John Duggan Saxon, Sr. and Ella Mae Sharpe Saxon.
He was a Machinist; former owner of Coastal Iron Works; Civil Service employee for Beaufort Naval Hospital; former member, Ridgeland Jaycees; volunteer for Ridgeland Rescue Squad, Dixie Youth Baseball program where he helped build ball diamond and facilities. He grew up in the Ridgeland Baptist Church and later became a member of Abundant Life Church.
He is survived by his sons, Tommy Saxon and Danny Saxon (Shirley) all of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Diane Richardson of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Bill Saxon, Bryan Saxon, Mathew Saxon, Brandi Bennett, Garry Richardson, Travis Richardson, Shannon Saxon, Aaron Saxon, Katrina Saxon Stanley; great grandchildren, Heidi, Bryan Lee, Brianna, Little Mathew, Micayle, Ashlyn, Forrest, Emma, Kelly, Robbie, Devin, Sally, Melinda, Analiese, Christian, Alleigh; great, great grandchild, Sadie Lynn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Woods Saxon; son, Tony Saxon; brother, Duggan Saxon, and sister, Dot Clemmer.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC 29936
