Thomas Waring Cooler

Thomas Waring Cooler, 90, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 16, 2026 at The Resorts in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Thomas (Tommy) was born on August 17, 1935 in Bluffton, South Carolina to Chauncey W. and Marie Cahill Cooler. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Erma Bowers Cooler, after 66 years of marriage and his brother, Melvin Cooler.

Tommy is survived by his sons, Craig (Meredith), M. Dana (Samantha), T. Wayne (Wanda); nephew, Dale (Debora); grandchildren Gabrielle Glasgow (Daniel), Michael Cooler, Mackenzie Goins, Madison Carabin (Tyler) and Chelsea Cooler as well as his beloved great grands, Brynn Goins and Brooks Carabin.

Tommy was a skilled barber by trade and cut hair for many years at his shop on Hilton Head where he cut the hair of thousands of celebrities as well as giving many local men and boys their “baby haircut.” Even though he saw many people who had a “hard head of hair to cut,” Tommy could always do a masterful job cutting hair well into his late 80’s.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Allen Perry. Burial will follow the service at Ridgeland Cemetery.
