Thomas Bellinger Way, 84 of Sheldon, SC passed away on March 22, 2016 at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC. Mr. Way was born in Ridgeland, SC on January 9, 1932 to the late William Jefferson and Ruth Irene Williams Way. Mr. Way served in the US Army during the Korean War where he was awarded two bronze stars for his bravery on the front lines. He was a member of the Gillisonville Baptist Church and attended Sheldon Baptist Church with his wife, Connie. Mr. Way retired from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island. Mr. Way enjoyed his retirement and life with his family. Mr. Way his survived by his wife, Constance Carroll Way of Sheldon; his son, Dwight Anthony Way of Santee, SC; his daughter, Dorothy Irene “Iva” Savarese (Marty) of Beaufort, SC; his step son, James Ryan Harvey (Patsy) of Sheldon, SC; his brothers, Lloyd Way of Barstow, CA and Gary Way (Alice) of Ridgeland, SC; his sisters, Lula Floyd of Ridgeland, SC, Helen Harvey of Thornton, TX and Jessie Mae Crapse (Harold) of Grays Hill, SC; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Way; brothers, Jeff Way, Lee Way and Bert Way; sisters Minnie Horton, Cliff Pye, Edna Smith, Daisy Horn, Martha Boyer and Ruth Way. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Gillisonville Baptist Church, Gillisonville, SC with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
