Thora (Tommye) Mccurdy

Thora (Tommye) McCurdy passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Tuesday, December 9 th, 2008 of heart failure.She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Walter R. McCurdy; daughters, Carla Brady (John) and Betty Jo Kress (Rick); grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson, Kristen Bachman (Chad), Cara Lynn Brady and Daniel Brady; and great grandson, Jayden Anderson.Thora (Tommye) was born September 20th 1924 in Portland, Washington. She lived her childhood in Kalma, Washington. She attended the University of Washington where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She recently received the White Rose Circle of Recognition for her 50 years of loyal membership in the Kappa Delta Sorority. Thora remained a faithful Kappa Delta until her death.Thora and Walter lived in Webster on Irondiquote Bay. They ran their own family businesses (Walter R. McCurdy and Son) in Rochester for 33 years before retiring and moving to Hypoluxo, Florida in 1989. They then moved from Florida to Sun City, Hilton Head, SC in February of 1997 where they still reside.The family is hosting a Celebration of Tommye
