Tillie Bryan Fender

July 1, 1926 — December 7, 2019

Tillie Bryan Fender, age 93 of Levy, SC and widow of Jack L. Fender passed away on December 7, 2019 at the home of her daughter with her family by her side.

Tillie was born on July 1, 1926 and was the prior owner of Fender’s Produce and Mercantile.  She was affectionately known as the ‘Tomato Lady’ for her many years of growing and selling tomatoes in the fields of Levy.  Tillie was a member of the Red Dam Baptist Church.

Tillie was preceded in death by her husband; her sons, Frank L. Fender, Bruce A. Fender; her grandson, Christopher Ryan Fender; her parents Calvin L. and Mary O’Quinn Bryan and her siblings, Calvin Bryan Jr., Leo Bryan, George Bryan, Dan Bryan, Jen Bryan, Bonnie Bryan, Ben Bryan, Burl Bryan, Melvin Bryan, Richard Bryan, David Bryan, Minnie Cooper, Corine Lynes, Laura Bryan, Dora Hubbard and Savannah Mae Bryan.

Tillie is survived by her daughters, Jackie Prescott, Sharon Emanuel (Robert), her son, Mack Fender (Julie), her daughter in law, Tammy Williams; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Okatie, SC.
