Timothy V. Devine

April 2, 1947 — November 28, 2014

On November 28, 2014 Tim passed away peacefully after a courageous seventeen year battle with Parkinson's Disease and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. Tim led a very impressive, successful professional life and was Vice President at ALCO Industries in Valley Forge, PA until his retirement in 2005. Tim believed that everything was better when shared - be it a round of golf, a dozen oysters or a cold Heineken and, because of that, provided decades worth of tremendous joy and memorable moments for his family and friends. He touched the lives of anyone who knew him with his truly generous soul and big heart. Upon learning of his diagnosis in 1998, he began a battle that was both valiant and inspirational. Always the eternal optimist, he took on this journey in the same way he lived each and every day - with faith, positivity, laughter, and like a true champion. As a lifelong fitness enthusiast, Tim continued his workout regime at Berkley Hall's fitness center where everyone knew him and cheered him on. As a very young child, Tim was introduced to the game of golf by his father and grandfather. He developed a life-long love of and respect for the game, and was happiest with a golf club in his hand. He continued to play throughout his entire battle with Parkinson's disease. In recent years, with the help and support of his Berkley Hall friends, he was able to continue to enjoy the game that he loved. Tim is survived by his college sweetheart and love of his life, Maggie, with whom he shared forty-four joyous years of marriage. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Patricia Wooddell of Hilton Head Island; his loving sister-in-law and brother-in law, Palma and Norm Chryst, of Bluffton; sister-in-law, Rosanne Atkinson of North Carolina: sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patti and Tom Chesebrough, of Huntington, New York; his dear sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bill Stewart of Bend, Oregon; sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and Bob Gremp of Williamsburg, VA; his uncle, Richard Newcomer, of Florida; his loving nieces, Kristin Gallagher (Paul), and Dina Lee (Ryan); a niece, Cindy Harrell; a nephew, Rob Harrell; his grand-nieces, Keira Gallagher and River Lee; and his grand-nephews, Colin Gallagher, Alex Lee, and Quentin Lee.
