Timothy M. Lawrence

Timothy M. Lawrence, 55, of Bluffton, SC sadly passed away on September 9, 2023. Tim was born on March 2, 1968 in Quakertown, PA to Walter J. and Elizabeth (née Sullivan) Lawrence. He grew up in Claverack, NY where he enjoyed camping, skiing, riding motorcycles, and, most of all, driving fast cars. After graduating from Hudson High School, he moved to Scituate, MA where he began his almost 30-year career in the car industry with BMW and ending up at Hilton Head BMW. He was loved and respected by his clients and fellow colleagues. Tim was a kind, fun-loving, generous soul who loved his family dearly. Tim was a lover of nature whether on the golf course, hiking in the mountains, or being on the water kayaking, boating, or fishing. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan (an obsession which he passed down to his girls) and hated those cheating Patriots. He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Maggie (née Austin) Lawrence, his two amazing daughters Grace (17) and Keely (16), his mother, Elizabeth Lawrence, three brothers and their spouses, Walter (Nancy), Michael (Christie), and Christopher (Jill), as well as his nieces and nephews, Erica, Jeremy, Michael, Fiona Lawrence and Benton and Alyssa Austin. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Walter. A service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the historic campus of Church of the Cross in Bluffton, SC at 11am. A memorial service will be held at The Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ on October 7, 2023 at 11:15am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Tim’s memory to Covenant House NJ or World Central Kitchen.
