Tina Marie (Braswell) Fripp

April 14, 1956 — July 25, 2024

Tina Marie Braswell Fripp. Born to Archie and Ava Braswell on the Fourteenth of April 1956, passed away on the Twenty Fifth of July 2024, while peacefully enjoying her final thunderstorm alongside her daughter and son. Tina Marie Braswell Fripp was a fierce woman. Fierce; there may be no better word to describe her zeal for life and dedication to achieve the things she desired. She lived, and led, with all her heart wishing for nothing less than the best for everyone. Without doubt, there will be many significant things that we remember about Tina because she lived a life worth remembering. However, in this moment, what we as her family remember most is that she was a generous and loving mother, grandmother, teacher, gifted artist, friend in times of joy, stalwart in times of need, and inspiration when necessary to be the best versions of ourselves. She always gave, but never asked. There will be many places that we go in life whether it be some random building, a home, a park, a church, or a place of solace known only to us. Her artwork may be there, it may not. What matters is not the where. Tina can join us there if we wish because her spirit lingers around us everywhere simply in the way she lived her life and in the way she imparted that same love for life upon those around her. Her art, as an extension her own self, was an avenue to nature, history, architecture, creativity, wonder, self-expression, and new experiences.  Her art was built upon, not only those basic foundations of who she was, but also her raw talent, dedication to her craft, infectious personality, beaming smile, and Lord knows that red hair she loved to mention.

One of the things she would want us to remember most, however, is how much she loved horses. From her earliest years she was drawn to them and was eventually able to build a life in which horses were always within her circle. From her teens spent riding her own horse bareback, as though a young fem sheriff of the wild west through the streets of Savannah, to her years with her young children passing on her love for them, and finally her last years spent volunteering with an organization dedicated to horses as a way of healing those in need, she was always seeking out ways not only to be near but to maintain the special emotional bond that comes only with having a horse as a friend. As those of you who are blessed enough to know, the very best of her friendships were built and sustained around her love for horses and art. Let those moments endure as her memory and legacy in your hearts. Tina Marie Braswell Fripp is survived immediately by her loving children Celia Noelle Fripp and John William Fripp.  She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Leslie Parrish and Kay Dawson, with whom she spent some of her happiest final moments. And, as Tina would say in her love for history; Lest we not forget those who knew her, loved her, and were loved by her. She would want you to know she is survived by the innumerous extended family, friends, and countless individuals on whom her impact was felt and most importantly, enduring. As a tribute to Tina, in lieu of cards or flowers, please find it in your hearts to make a donation of any size to “LOVE for Therapeutic Riding.” This is a non-profit organization where Tina volunteered as a teacher and an honorary board chair. This beautiful organization is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for physically, mentally, emotionally, or socially challenged young horse riders with safe, sequentially planned equine assisted activities in and around Beaufort, South Carolina.
