Troy Ellis Altman

Troy Ellis Altman, 55 of Ridgeland, SC passed away at his home surrounded by family.

Troy was born on December 15, 1964 in Hampton, SC to the late Wilton Ellis Altman and Effie Ruth Hudson Altman. Troy was very involved in baseball and football as a child and continued into his high school years. He was a graduate of Thomas Heyward Academy, Class of 1983. Troy began his fire career with the Town of Hilton Head in 1986. After 22 years of service, he retired as an engineer in 2008.

Troy was a kind hearted and loving husband, father, brother, and papa. He never met a stranger, and he loved everyone. He enjoyed many things, including shrimping, fishing down Haphazard, and Relic hunting for civil war relics. Troy’s greatest accomplishment was his family.

Troy is survived by his wife, Patricia (Trish) Fleury Altman of Ridgeland; his son, Brian Lawrence Altman; his daughter, Courtney Jean Kendricks (Joe); his brother, Ben W. Altman (Lise); his grandchildren, Ella Grace Kendricks, and Hudson Joseph Kendricks, all of Ridgeland.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am, Friday, February 21, 2020 at Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland until the hour of the service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at a later date. To honor Troy's wishes, casual attire is appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Troy Ellis Altman.
